Histone acetylation is a post-translational modification that affects the nucleosome structure and therefore the ability of transcription factors to access the DNA and regulate gene expression. The recombinant acetylated histones are made using our patent pending technology, which enables acetylation of the histone tail without altering the native peptide bond.

Recombinant acetylated histones are created using a patent pending technology that introduces a site specific acetylation on the histone tail without altering the native peptide bonds. Each recombinant acetylated protein is over 99% pure, as verified by high-resolution ESI-TOF mass spectrometry. All recombinant histones are confirmed by SDS-PAGE and dot blot. These recombinant histones are equivalent to native acetylated histones, so these proteins are perfect for functional assays or for use as positive controls for acetylation detection.

An SDS-PAGE gel was run with 1.5 µg Recombinant Histone H3 (Lane 2), 1.5 µg Recombinant Histone H3 acetyl Lys9 (Lane 3), 1.5 µg Recombinant Histone H3 acetyl Lys14 (Lane 4) and a protein marker (Lane 1)
Contents & Storage
25 µg supplied as lyophilized powder. Lyophilized proteins can be stored at -20°C or -80°C, preferably desiccated. Recombinant proteins in solution are temperature sensitive and must be stored at -80°C to prevent degradation. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles and keep on ice when not in storage. Products are guaranteed stable for 6 months after receipt when stored properly.
