for c-Myc antibody (pAb) (65 kDa form)Background

c-Myc is a sequence specific DNA binding transcription factor that regulates gene expression, especially genes involved in cell division. Myc family members contain a basic Helix-Loop-Helix leucine zipper (bHLHZ) domain. Myc family proteins associated with thousands of genes, especially those involved in cell growth and proliferation. Myc serves as an integrator of signal transduction, linking extracellular signals to an acute cellular growth response. Mutations and overexpression of c-Myc are associated with cell proliferation and cancer.

for c-Myc antibody (pAb) (65 kDa form)Immunogen

This c-Myc antibody was raised against a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acid residues 9-22 of human c-Myc; it recognizes a 65 kDa form of c-Myc.

for c-Myc antibody (pAb) (65 kDa form)Application Notes

This c-Myc antibody has been validated for use in Western blotting (1:500 - 1:1,000 dilution). For optimal results, primary antibody incubations should be performed at 37°C. Individual optimization may be required.

for c-Myc antibody (pAb) (65 kDa form)Buffer

PBS containing 0.2% gelatin, 0.01% thimersol and 0.1% sodium azide. Thimersol and sodium azide are highly toxic.

for c-Myc antibody (pAb) (65 kDa form)Positive Control

Active Motif's 3T6 Swiss albino nuclear extract (Catalog No. 36002) can be used as a positive control for c-Myc antibody (65 kDa form).

c-Myc antibody (pAb) (65 kDa form) tested by Western blot.

c-Myc antibody (65 kDa form) tested by Western blot.
Detection of c-Myc by Western blot analysis. A 65 kDa form of the transcription factor c-Myc is detected in nuclear extracts derived from 3T6 Swiss albino cells using c-Myc rabbit polyclonal antibody at a 1:1,000 dilution (lane 1). The signal is eliminated when the c-Myc immunizing peptide is added to the reaction mixture (lane 2).

for c-Myc antibody (pAb) (65 kDa form)Storage

Antibodies in solution can be stored at -80°C for 2 years. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles and keep on ice when not in storage.
