for SRF Drosophila antibody (mAb)Background

SRF Drosophila (SRF) is a ubiquitous nuclear protein that stimulates cellular proliferation in Drosophila and is a member of the MADS box transcription factor superfamily. Nucleotide sequence analysis of the Drosophila SRF homolog (DSRF) codes for a protein that displays 93% sequence identity with human SRF in the MADS domain, the region required for DNA binding, dimerization and interaction with accessory factors. The DSRF gene is expressed during several phases of embryonic development. In the egg, both the RNA and the protein are maternal in origin and slowly decrease in amount during gastrulation. After germ band retraction, high levels of zygotic expression are observed in a distinct subset of peripheral tracheal cells distributed throughout the embryo. Many of these cells are at the tip of tracheal branches and are in direct contact with the target tissues. The DSRF gene is mapped to position 60C on the second chromosome.

for SRF Drosophila antibody (mAb)Immunogen

This SRF Drosophila antibody was raised against a full-length protein corresponding to Drosophila SRF.

for SRF Drosophila antibody (mAb)Application Notes

This SRF Drosophila antibody has been validated for use in Western blotting (1:50 - 1:100 dilution). For optimal results, primary antibody incubations should be performed at room temperature. The addition of 0.1% Tween 20 to all Blotto solutions may also reduce background. Individual optimization may be required.

for SRF Drosophila antibody (mAb)Buffer

PBS containing 0.2% gelatin, 0.01% thimersol and 0.1% sodium azide. Thimersol and sodium azide are highly toxic.

for SRF Drosophila antibody (mAb)Positive Control

Cells expressing recombinant SRF protein are recommended as a positive control for SRF Drosophila antibody.

for SRF Drosophila antibody (mAb)Storage

Antibodies in solution can be stored at -80°C for 2 years. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles and keep on ice when not in storage.
