for MRG15 antibody (pAb)Background
MRG15 (MORF4-Related Gene on chromosome 15) is the homolog of the yeast Eaf3 protein and belongs to the MRG family of genes, which are involved in various cellular processes as cellular aging, positive and negative transcriptional regulation and DNA damage repair. MRG15 can be associated with both histone deacetylase and histone acetyltransferase complexes (such as the NuA4 histone acetyltransferase complex, which is involved in transcriptional activation of select genes principally by acetylation of nucleosomal Histone H2A and Histone H4). MRG15, thus, potentially plays a role in both transcriptional silencing and activation. In addition to the more conserved MRG motifs, MRG15 also contains a chromodomain near the N-terminus.
