for CENP-E antibody (mAb) (Clone 1H12)Application Notes

Validated Applications:
ICC/IF: 1 µg/ml dilution

This CENP-E antibody can be used in Western blot to detect CENP-E if the protein has been first enriched by immunoprecipitation.

This CENP-E antibody was raised against full-length human CENP-E protein.

for CENP-E antibody (mAb) (Clone 1H12)Buffer

Purified IgG in 70 mM Tris (pH 8), 105 mM NaCl, 31 mM glycine, 0.07 mM EDTA, 30% glycerol and 0.035% sodium azide. Sodium azide is highly toxic.

for CENP-E antibody (mAb) (Clone 1H12)Background

Centrosome-associated protein E (CENP-E) is a kinesin-like protein and an integral component of kinetochore fibers that link centromeres to spindle microtubules. CENP-E localizes to kinetochores throughout all phases of mitotic chromosome movement. After the onset of anaphase it is released, and by telophase becomes bound to interzonal microtubules of the mitotic spindle. It is likely that CENP-E serves as a chromosome motor during anaphase.

for CENP-E antibody (mAb) (Clone 1H12)Positive Control

Active Motif's HeLa nuclear extract (Catalog No. 36010) can be used as a positive control for CENP-E antibody (Clone 1H12).

Compatible Secondary Antibodies

Active Motif has developed a variety of high-quality secondary antibodies for most applications, with anti-rabbit and anti-mouse conjugates to a broad line of high-quality fluorescent molecules, as well as horse radish peroxidase (HRP). Visit our Secondary Antibody Conjugates page to find the perfect secondaries for immunofluorescence experiments with CENP-E antibody (mAb).

for CENP-E antibody (mAb) (Clone 1H12)Storage

Some products may be shipped at room temperature. This will not affect their stability or performance. Upon receipt, unconjugated antibodies may be stored at -20°C for up to 2 years. Fluorophore- & enzyme-conjugated antibodies should be stored at 4°C. Fluorophore-conjugated antibodies should be protected from light. Keep reagents on ice when not in storage; to avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, we recommend aliquoting items that will be stored frozen into single-use fractions prior to freezing.
