Immunogen

This MAD1 antibody was raised against a peptide corresponding to amino acids 331-718 of mouse MAD1.

Buffer

Purified IgG in 70 mM Tris (pH 8), 105 mM NaCl, 31 mM glycine, 0.07 mM EDTA, 30% glycerol and 0.035% sodium azide. Sodium azide is highly toxic.

Background

MAD1 (MAD1L1, Mitotic arrest deficient 1) is a component of the spindle-assembly checkpoint that prevents the onset of anaphase until all chromosomes are properly aligned at the metaphase plate. MAD1 homoderizes with MAD2L1 and is present at the kinetochore. Defects in MAD1 are involved in the development and/or progression of various types of cancer.
