Immunogen

This HNF-3β / FOXA2 antibody was raised against a recombinant protein corresponding to amino acids 7-86 of rat HNF-3β /FOXA2.

Buffer

Rabbit serum containing 30% glycerol and 0.035% sodium azide. Sodium azide is highly toxic.

HNF-3β / FOXA2 antibody (pAb) tested by Western blot.
Extract of HeLa cells expressing HNF-3β / FOXA2 (50 µg per lane) probed with HNF-3β / FOXA2 antibody (pAb) (1:5,000 dilution).

Background

HNF-3β (Hepatocyte nuclear factor 3 beta, forkhead box A2, FoxA2) is a homeodomain containing transcription factor and is a member of the Hepatocyte Nuclear Factor family (HNF-1α, HNF-1β, HNF-3α, HNF-3β, HNF-3γ, HNF-4α, HNF-4γ, HNF-6α and HNF-6β), whose members regulate the transcription of numerous hepatocyte genes in adult liver. HNF-3 members bind to DNA as monomers using a winged helix DNA-binding domain. HNF-3α and HNF-3γ have also been shown to be involved in gastrulation events such as body axis formation.

Positive Control

Active Motif's HeLa nuclear extract (Catalog No. 36010) can be used as a positive control for HNF-3β / FOXA2 antibody.
