Immunogen

This antibody was raised against a peptide within the C-terminal region of human STAG1.

Buffer

Purified IgG in PBS with 30% glycerol and 0.035% sodium azide. Sodium azide is highly toxic.

STAG1 antibody (pAb) tested by Western blot.
Nuclear extract of Caco-2 cells (20 µg) probed with STAG1 antibody (pAb) at a dilution of 1:1,000.

Background

STAG1 (stromal antigen 1) is a component of cohesin complex, a complex required for the cohesion of sister chromatids after DNA replication. The cohesin complex apparently forms a large proteinaceous ring within which sister chromatids can be trapped. At anaphase, the complex is cleaved and dissociates from chromatin, allowing sister chromatids to segregate. The cohesin complex may also play a role in spindle pole assembly during mitosis.

Storage

Some products may be shipped at room temperature. This will not affect their stability or performance. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles by aliquoting items into single-use fractions for storage at -20°C for up to 2 years. Keep all reagents on ice when not in storage.
