Immunogen
This BLIMP1 / PRDM1 antibody was raised against a peptide within the N-terminal half of human BLIMP1 / PRDM1.
Buffer
Purified IgG in 70 mM Tris (pH 8), 105 mM NaCl, 31 mM glycine, 0.07 mM EDTA, 30% glycerol and 0.035% sodium azide. Sodium azide is highly toxic.
Western blot of BLIMP1 / PRDM1 antibody.
Nuclear extract of Saos-2 cells (20 µg per lane) probed with BLIMP1 / PRDM1 antibody (pAb) at a dilution of 1:1,000.
Background
BLIMP1 / PRDM1 (Beta-interferon gene positive regulatory domain I-binding factor, PR domain-containing protein 1 Positive regulatory domain I-binding factor 1) is a DNA sequence-specific transcriptional repressor that binds specifically to the PRDI element in the promoter of the beta-interferon gene, as well as other genes. It is required for maturation of B-lymphocytes into immunoglobin secreting plasma cells through direct repression of transcription factors such as Pax5, Bcl6, and Myc, which function in the lineage commitment and proliferation of B cells. BLIMP1 / PRDM1 contains an N-terminal SET domain and four C-terminal C2H2-type zinc-finger motifs. It is also required for effector T-cell function and for the specification of primordial germ cell lineages.
Positive Control
Active Motif's Saos-2 nuclear extract (Catalog No. 36025) can be used as a positive control for BLIMP1 / PRDM1 antibody.
