Background
ALKBH5 (ABH5 and OFOXD1) is a Dioxygenase that demethylates RNA by oxidative demethylation. It is a mammalian demethylase that oxidatively reverses m6A in mRNA in vitro and in vivo.ALKBH5 is required for spermatogenesis. Two major isoforms for this target are located at a of MW 40-44 kDa and 52 kDa.
